photoLIFE ~Focus on Oz Winners

photoLIFE hosted their Focus on Oz winner announce and party on 2011-03-26. The winners  are as follows:

1st Place – The Grandiose – And the Winner Is – Corinne Helendale
Excellence in – Subject Rendition – Lighting – Composition – Creativity – Overall Impression
If there was any 1 photography in this competition that people loved to comment on this was it.
Corinne took information from the broadway show “Wicked” to elaborate the theme.
This along with the difficulty of character depiction were two very clear creative elements that stood out.
This is Corinne’s 3rd Major photoLIFE Photography Competition Win. Congratulations Corinne!

2nd Place – The Winner Is  – Marcy Thorne – This category was Best Layout
Excellence in scene composition and point of view.  The camera angle along with the scene elements made this photograph stand out.
Congratulations Marcy, excellent work!

In 3rd Place – The Winner Is – Trixee Trotter – This category was Best Depiction.
The closest likeness to a scene from the 1939 motion picture.
Had this photography not won 3rd place it would have won 5th place ( Judy’s choice.)

In 4th place – The Winner Is -  Beatrice Serendipity -  This category was Modern Concept.
Modern character and scene elements.  This is excellent photography.

In 5th place – The Winner Is -  Savanah Souther -  This category was Judy’s Choice.
Capturing Judy Garland’s character Dorothy in the best likeness including scene composition.
Scene composition ended up making the final choice for this category. Congratulations Savana!
